ABOUT

Hello!

WHO: My name is Teresa Bosko.

WHAT: I am a multi-disciplinary artist specializing in large-scale plywood wall sculptures, panel paintings, and installations. For the past few years my focus has been on interpreting house plants (they're an obsession) through a heavily decorative mid-century modern lens. With my newer work, my aim is to continue with my exploration of decorative botanical elements, but now in combination with, and in contrast to, a freer, amped-up execution of a more personal narrative, resulting in a much more emotionally-charged, energetic, in-your-face badass-ery.

HOW: My tools and materials of choice are a jigsaw, an X-acto knife, big rolls of 4-inch masking tape, house paint, acrylics, spray paint and 4' x 8' sheets of plywood.

WHY: I make art because it thrills me. Painfully aware of my mortality, I am compelled to relentlessly pursue reaching my fullest potential. God has given me this incredible gift, and I feel the responsibility, as well as the honor, of that stewardship. I want my work to dazzle the viewer, and to leave them feeling a little, no, actually A LOT, better for it.

WHERE: Ravenna, Ohio, USA

PROJECTS: I am the former owner of two retail studios, Studio Lulu and Petuniabegonia. I've designed and created large-scale art for El Gato Taqueria in Akron, Ohio, and have also designed, constructed, and supervised the installation of an exterior wall sculpture for Silk Mill 145 in Kent, Ohio. I am currently working on a series of panel-paintings based on a semi-fictional-tongue-in-cheek-love-gone-wrong-hot-rod-rock-n-roll-psychotic-saga spinning 'round my imagination. A series of small works on paper illustrating Bible passages is also on the menu.

QUALITY CONTROL: "Would I be jealous if another artist made it?"  The work isn't finished until the answer is yes.

PHILOSOPHY: "Never be afraid to make a drastic change" AND "Don't chase what you don't want."

FOR WHOM: Those individuals, commercial venues and corporate settings wanting to experience that thrill...

"Like a gorgeous punch in the face."

In the studio now...
